Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a clay pigeon shooting club in or around Chantilly. Is clay pigeon shooting (DTL, sporting, skeet etc) popular in France?

Hello again Adrian,

I've been doing my homework and I think clay-pigeon shooting is known as Ball Trap in France. The governing body is the FFBT (Federation Francais de ball trap et de Tir a Balle). I passed a gunsmith in Lamorlaye recently but didn't get the chance to go in. I shall look them up on my next visit and perhaps they can point me in the right direction.

I haven't found out much about clay pigeon shooting. Most of the shooting seems to be of the animal kind (hunting) rather than sport. Certainly in the forest near us (in Lamorlaye) you are advised not to walk the dog on a Monday morning as they are hunting. There are chairs set up at regular intervals too.

I think some of the bigger chateaux do have corporate shooting events but am not sure about clubs as such...

Does any one know of clay pidgeon shooting around the Royan, Saintes, Bordeaux area. I am a keen clay shooter and have bought a house in this area.
