TV satellite options NOT Sky?
TV satellite options NOT Sky?
Posté le: Lun Fèv 08, 2010 3:45 pm
Hi
Is SKY the only way to get English TV channels? Does anyone know if CanalSat / Canal+ offer some English TV, eg movies, sport [eg ESPN for ice hockey and rugby].I'd quite like to have access to some French telly, as well.
If going the SKY option. Is it easy to activate a card and pay for packages using UK address instead of going through an agent, who charges $150 to do it for you?
What options are there, does anyone know?
Thanks
Annie

You can use Freesat instead of Sky, a much cheaper alternative !
but equipment must be bought in the UK as they check if you paid yor UK TV licence before selling the decoders
On the positive side: no subscription, and 3 channels are already free in HD (sofar BBC one, BBC HD and ITV), and many channels loved by my children
On the negative side: no National Geographic and other fancy paid channels
Best option for you seems to be Freesat + Canal-Satellite combined on one dish with two heads pointing to the two different satellites.
only 1 cable line necessary ( unless you need SKY+ or Freesat+)
Call me if you need advice/help 06 73 87 14 73
