I am very likely moving to the Chantilly area in the coming months (once paperwork, visas, etc. are completed). I have to say, I was thrilled to find this site! Just curious if anyone out there has any suggestions concerning apartments/houses for rent, general recommendations for where to live, etc. I have been to Chantilly only a couple of times, but not since well over a year ago.

First, welcome to the site! Hopefully you'll be able to settle in quickly and meet plenty of other expats to help you find your way.

In terms of finding a place to rent there are a couple in the For Sale section of this site (one added yesterday which looks nice). Failing that we recommend anyone house hunting to contact Susan Toursel - you can find her at her website (here) or I suspect she'll probably be along here soon to get in touch directly.

Anything else you need a hand with don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you Adrian. I appreciate the quick response. I had been searching and found Susan's website previously. Unfortunately it does not look like there are many options listed there for rentals in the Chantilly area. Our relocation company should provide all of our authorizations shortly so I will probably enter into contact with Susan to see if she has some other properties that are not listed on the website.

We are not going to do a househunting trip until after the new year, but I will send a note back when we set the date to see if there are any events going on at that time so we can meet some of the folks from the local expat community.
