Hello! We are moving back to France this summer. We are thinking about living in the Senlis/Chantilly area as my husband will be working in Bobigny. Just wondering how we can go about finding information about good schols for our 7 year old and 4 year old? Also, which neighborhoods have a lot of english speakers in them? Any advice for us? Why did you all choose to live in Chantilly/Senlis rather than Paris itself.. How about bilingual schools?

Hello,
I live in this area(Lamorlaye) for now 30 years and I quite enjoy it. You can meet quite a few English speaking people as you go in town , it will be a pleasure to meet you when you will arrive. For the bilingual schools there is the Montessori or your children enter the French system and go to APARC on wednesdays. It is what I have done with my 2 sons as no other system existed before. One is now working in Luxembourg and the second one is at University in Paris.
We live in the country thow we aren't far from Paris , I don't like life in big towns.
Hope to see you soon
Patricia

Dejo,
Welcome to the site - and to the area! Senlis/Chantilly is certainly a good bet for expats - being so close to the airport and being handy for Paris by train or by road makes it an ideal location. To be only 35km or so from the centre of Paris yet in the middle of a forest is a great combination!
As far as schools go there a a few in Chantilly that serve the bilingual community. You can find details of two of them here, APARC and ELMS. As Patricia has said ELMS is a completely bilingual school that serves children from the age of 3 to 11. APARC is an association that complements rather than replaces the French system - you can enrol your child in a French school and on the wednesday mornings when there is no French school they get 3 hours of English tuition. This tuition continues through college and eventually leads to the IGCSE.
On top of that colleges in both Chantilly and Lamorlaye have a thriving international section.
Please feel free to ask any other questions either here or directly in the schools' chat area.
