The three Pakistani openers put on 93 of their side’s 109 runs scored from the bat. Their top scorer was Temur with 47 and Javed who has scored 5 centuries in 7 matches so far this season managed 31. If the CCC bowlers had some difficulties – bowling 20 wides for example – the fielders were superb as wicket keeper Jeremy Brender led the way with a sharp catch to dismiss Waqas for 15 and Captain Rob Oakley took a brilliant catch at first slip to end Javed’s innings. In all the keeper took three catches, the Captain two and Nick Clarke showed safe hands in taking two as well. Ketan was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 21 with Nick Shepherd following closely at 3 for 24.
When CCC came in to bat they faced some very aggressive and tidy bowling and CCSB95’s Ketan top scored with 33. The CCC batting line up was in theory deep as they had strength down to number 8 and 5 players reached double figures but three run outs did not help their cause and in the end CCC couldn’t quite reach the run rate required for victory.
An exciting finish kept everyone to the end and we look forward to more games of this calibre. CCC’s man of the match was either Jeremy, the CCC “wickie”, or Ketan who did so well with bat and ball but a hearty “well done” to Rob and all of CCC team on a fine performance!
Our sincere thanks to our visitors also for a keenly contested match and we look forward to welcoming a Pakistan Paris Embassy team back to Chantilly next year.

In front of a large crowd including Her Excellency the Ambassador for Pakistan, Ms Asma ANISA, Mr Patrick Guerrand-Hermes and the director of French Cricket, David Bordes, this closely fought game saw CCC come of age on the playing field.
Although greatly helped by reinforcements from our friends at St Brice (CCSB95), it was the CCC players who performed so well against an opposing team that was announced as a middle strength team of Pakistanis from England but in fact was itself reinforced by several French based criketers some of whom are currently the best players in the French Super League.
The Pakistani XI won by 8 runs. They were all out for 131 after 23.1 overs and CCC were 123 for 8 after their allotted 25 overs.
