Chantilly Cricket in the Telegraph

Soumis par: webmaster à Jeudi Mai 07, 2009 (17:42:02)   (2282 Lectures)

An article appeared in the Daily Telegraph on 26th April 2009 titled 'France throw down gauntlet to English cricket'. If you don't know the story apparently the only time cricket has been played at an Olympic Games was a match contested between England and France at the Paris Games of 1900. England were the winners that day, by 158 runs in the two-day match held at the velodrome in Vincennes. So France, runners up that day, consider themselves the 'Silver Medallist', and second best team in the world!

But now France Cricket has thrown down the gauntlet once more, challenging England to a rematch in Lille shortly before the start of the 2012 Games in London.

A Telegraph correspondant decided to check on the state of French cricket and visited Chantilly to find the French team. The article details what he found.
